The maximum flash range is 5.1m. This falls to 2.8m when the zoom lens is fully extended.

There are a number of preset scene modes. These are: Portrait, Soft Skin, Transform, Self-Portrait, Scenery, Panorama Assist, Night Portrait, / Night Scenery, Food, Party, Candle Light, Baby1, Baby2, Pet, Sunset, High sensitivity, / Hi-Speed Burst (Image Priority / Speed Priority), Flash Burst, Starry Sky, Fireworks, / Aerial photo, Pinhole, Film Grain and Underwater.

You can shoot High Definition movies with a resolution of 1280 x 720 pixels. The top recording speed is 30 frames per second. Sound can be recorded and zoom can be applied while shooting. There is a dedicated start movie button on the back of the Lumix DMC FT1.

You also have access to a set of movie scene modes. These are: Portrait, Soft Skin, Transform, Self-Portrait, Scenery, Low Light, / Food, Party, Candle Light, Sunset, Beach & Surf, Snow, Aerial, Pinhole, Film Grain, / Underwater, High Sensitivity / (Activated by selecting Still Picture Scene Mode then pressing movie button. Verdict:	This is an impressive, waterproof and shockproof camera. It has a lot of other impressive features as well, such as High Definition movies. Picture quality is good too. I could find very little to fault the camera. Recommended.
