The Panasonic Lumix DMC FS62 is a 10 megapixel digital camera with a 4x optical zoom lens. The focal length of the lens is equivalent to 33 - 132mm in 35mm format. As with other Panasonic digital cameras more zoom becomes available as you decrease the number of megapixels you are shooting at. The maximum zoom available is 7.1x at 3 megapixels. 4x digital zoom is a further option for increasing zoom.
Other features include a 2.5 inch LCD screen and image stabilisation. The Lumix DMC FS62 can shoot standard definition movies.
The LCD monitor is 2.5 inches in size. The screen is made up of around 230,000 dots.
The flash modes are: Auto, Auto/Red-eye Reduction, Forced On, Forced Off
The maximum flash range is 6.3m. This falls to 3m when the zoom lens is fully extended.
There are a number of preset scene modes. These are: Portrait, Soft Skin, Transform, Self-Portrait, Scenery, Sports, Night Portrait, Night Scenery, Food, Party, Candle Light, Baby1, Baby2, Pet, Sunset, High sensitivity, Hi-Speed Burst, Flash Burst, Starry Sky, Fireworks, Beach, Snow, Aerial photo, Film Grain and Photo Frame.
You can shoot movies with a widescreen resolution of 848 x 480 pixels. These are suitable for playback on a widescreen television. The top recording speed is 30 frames per second. Sound can be recorded and zoom can be applied before shooting starts.

| Verdict: | When it comes to value for money this camera is very hard to beat. It is one of the cheapest pocket cameras you will find, but it does not suffer in terms of picture quality. I also like the look of the camera. All in all this is very impressive for the price. Recommended. |
