The Olympus FE-45 is a 10 megapixel digital camera with a 3x optical zoom lens. The focal length of the lens is equivalent to 36 - 108mm in 35mm format. 4x digital zoom is also available.

The LCD monitor is 2.5 inches in size. The screen is made up of around 230,000 dots.

The flash modes are: on, off, red eye reduction and automatic. The maximum flash range is 4.2m at ISO 800. This falls to 2.2m when the zoom lens is fully extended.

There are a number of preset scene modes. These are: Portrait, Landscape, Night Scene, Night Scene with portrait, Sports, Indoor, Candle, Self-portrait, Sunset, Fireworks, Cuisine and Documents.

You can shoot movies with a resolution of 640 x 480 pixels. The top recording speed is 30 frames per second. Sound can be recorded and optical zoom can be applied before shooting starts. Digital zoom can be applied while shooting is in progress.

Among the more advanced features are:

All the necessary cables and software are supplied to attach the Olympus FE-45 to a computer, television set and compatible printer.

Verdict:	This is a simple, easy to use digital camera. It also has a low price tag. Even when taking the price tag into account I was disappointed with the picture quality on offer.
