Olympus FE-230 Features
The Olympus FE-230 is a seven megapixel digital camera with a three times zoom lens. The maximum aperture of the lens is f3.1 - f5.9. The focal length equates to 38 - 114 mm in 35mm format. 4x digital zoom is available too.
Basics
There is a self timer with a delay of around 10 seconds.
Panoramic shooting is possible with an Olympus brand memory card.
You can capture a short burst of sound when a photo is being taken. Alternatively you can add sound after a photo has been taken.
Focusing
For close up shots the FE-230 can focus from 5cm away from the subject.
LCD
The 2.5 inch LCD screen is made up of around 115,000 pixels.
Flash
The maximum range of the inbuilt flash unit is 3.8m. This gradually reduces to 2m as you zoom in on a subject. The flash modes are on, off, automatic and red eye reduction.
Scene Modes
The predefined scene modes are Sports, Indoor, Candle, Self portrait, Sunset, Fireworks, Behind Glass, Cuisine, Documents, Auction, Underwater Wide 1, Underwater Wide 2 and Underwater Macro. When you specify a scene mode the camera uses what it considers to be the optimum settings for the type of photo you are taking.
Movies
Movies can be recorded at a maximum resolution of 640 x 480 pixels. The top recording speed is 30 frames per second. Sound can be captured and zoom can be applied while recording is in progress.
Advanced Features
Exposure compensation (+/- 2 EV / 1/3 steps) is the only advanced feature you have access to.
Computer - Printers - Television
Cables and software are included in the box to connect the FE-230 to a television, computer and compatible printer.
