The Nikon Coolpix P90 is an advanced, compact digital camera. It has 12 megapixels and a wide angle 24x optical zoom lens. You also have access to a set of manual exposure controls. The flash modes are: auto, red eye reduction, on, off and slow sync. Flash exposure compensation is available.

There are a number of preset scene modes. These are: Portrait, Night Portrait, Sports, Landscape, Party, Beach/Snow, Sunset, Dusk/Dawn, Night Landscape, Museum, Fireworks Show, Close Up, Copy, Back Light, Panorama Assist and Food.

You can shoot TV quality movies with a resolution of 640 x 480 pixels. The top recording speed is 30 frames per second. Sound can be recorded and optical zoom can be applied before shooting starts.

Verdict:	I like the pictures I took with this camera. To be honest when it comes to picture quality there is not a great deal to choose between the leading brands. This camera has a good range of features and is a good choice for the more serious hobby photographer.
