Overview
The Nikon Coolpix L22 is a great little camera. It is very good value for money. The main attractions are likely to be simplicity and picture quality. In fact when it comes to ease of use it is very hard to beat. Although the Coolpix L22 will fit into a large pocket, it is larger than a typical pocket camera. As you would expect for a camera in this price range it does not have an especially wide range of features. This contributes to ease of use.

Outdoor Scenic Shots in Good Light
All four of my outdoor scenic shots work well. The level of detail showing in all the shots is impressive. It is only on the fourth shot showing a building where some of the crispness slips as you move out towards the edges of the shot. I like the colours and lighting the Coolpix L22 is able to pack into each photo.
Portraits
All three of my portrait test shots work well. The only issue I had was with the portrait taken with flash. The light the flash unit produces is harsh and washes out some of the colour from the shot. I especially like the warm feel to the outdoor portrait shot.
Macro, Colours and Noise
If you are looking for a reasonably priced digital camera that takes a decent close up shot then the Coolpix L22 is a good choice. It will handle most close up situations and produce crisp images and accurate colours.
I like the colours this camera produces. As with other Nikon digital cameras the Coolpix L22 also manages to squeeze a little extra brightness into the photos for good measure.
In more shady areas of a shot, such as around the boat names on my first test shot, noise does start to show. There are one or two areas where the sky looks a little pixilated as well.
Summary
Overall the Coolpix L22 does an excellent job when looking at the price tag. It handles most snapshot situations without a problem.
Style
The Coolpix L22 has a typical design for a cheaper digital camera. There are four colour versions available: champagne silver, black, blue and red.
