The Fuji Finepix Z100 FD is an 8 megapixel digital camera. It has a 5x optical zoom lens. The lens aperture works in the range f/3.8-F6.4 (wide), f/4.8-f/8.0 (tele). The focal length is equivalent to 36 - 180mm in 35mm format. 5.1x digital zoom is also available.

In macro mode the camera can focus from 9cm away from the subject. The Finepix Z100 fd has a special face detection setting for portraits.

The available scene modes are: Natural Light, Natural Light& with Flash, Portrait, Landscape, Sport, Night, Fireworks, Sunset, Snow, Beach, Underwater, Museum, Party, Flower, Text and Auction.

Movies can be recorded at a maximum resolution of 640 x 480 seconds. The top recording speed is 30 frames per second. Sound can be recorded, but zoom can only be applied before shooting starts.

Advanced features include ISO Sensitivity (Auto, 64, 100, 200, 400, 800, 1600), white balance (Fine, Shade, Fluorescent light (Daylight), Fluorescent light (Warm White). Fluorescent light (Cool White), Incandescent light), Custom) and exposure compensation (+/- 2 in 0.3 steps.)

Continuous shooting is also available.

Shutter speeds are controlled automatically in the range 4 seconds to 1/1000 seconds.

Cables and software are provided by Fuji to attach the Finepix Z100 fd to a compatible printer, television or computer.

Verdict:	"All in all this is a fairly typical pocket sized digital camera. The longer lens is a big plus point, as is ease of use. I like the style of the camera too. Picture quality and shutter delay are roughly average and this camera should be capable of delivering decent quality snapshots."
