The Fuji Finepix Z10 fd is a 7 megapixel camera with a 3x optical zoom lens. It also offers 4x digital zoom. The focal length of the lens is equivalent to 38 - 110mm in 35mm format. The maximum aperture is F3.7 - F4.2.

For close up shots the Finepix Z10 fd can focus from 8cm away from the subject. There is also a special face detection setting for portrait shots.

The 2.5 inch LCD screen is made up of around 150,000 pixels.

The scene modes you can select from are: Natural Light, Natural Light & with Flash, Portrait, Landscape, Sport, Night, Auction, Sunset, Snow, Beach, Underwater, Museum, Party, Flower Close-Up and Text.

You can record movie clips with sound. The maximum resolution is 640 x 480 pixels. Movies can be recorded up to the capacity of the memory card. Sound can be captured, but zoom can only be applied before recording starts.

Among the more advanced features are Sensitivity (ISO 100 / 200 / 400 / 800 / 1600), white balance Fine, Shade, Fluorescent light (Daylight), Fluorescent light (Warm White), Fluorescent light (Cool White), Incandescent light) and exposure compensation (+/- 2 EV in 1/3 stop increments).

Continuous shooting and a burst mode are also available.

Shutter speeds are set automatically by the camera in the range 4 seconds to 1/1000 seconds.

Verdict:	"The Finepix Z10 fd was a disappointment to me. The upside is it looks good, is compact and is very easy to use. The downside is that the picture quality left quite a bit to be desired. If you are looking for a colourful camera to take fun snapshots with this camera might do the job, for any extra quality, look elsewhere."
