Megapixels and Zoom
The Fuji Finepix S8000 is an 8 megapixel digital camera with an extra long 18x zoom lens. The lens is a wide angle one with a focal length of 27 - 486mm in 35mm format. The camera also has 5.1x digital zoom.
Basics

Focusing
Focusing options include manual and face detection. For close up shots the super macro mode can focus from 1cm away from the subject.
LCD
The 2.5" LCD screen is made up of around 230,000 pixels. There is also an electronic viewfinder.
Flash
The flash unit pops up by pressing a button on the side. It can be set to always on, always off, automatic and slow synchro. The intensity of the flash can also be adjusted.
Scene Modes
The scene modes you can choose from are Natural Light, Natural Light with Flash, Portrait, Landscape, Sport, Night, Fireworks, Sunset, Snow, Beach, Museum, Party, Flower, Text and Auction.
Movies
Movies with sound can be recorded. The maximum resolution is 640 x 480 pixels and the top speed is 30 frames per second. Movies can be recorded up to the capacity of the memory card. Zoom can be applied before recording starts, but not while recording is in progress.
Advanced Features
You can take control over the exposure with fully manual, shutter priority and aperture priority modes. Shutter speeds can be set in the range 4 seconds to 1/2000 seconds. The aperture can be set between F2.8 - F8 wide and F4.5 - F8 tele.
Other advanced features give you control over sensitivity (64/100/200/400/ 800/1600/3200/6400), white balance (Automatic scene recognition. Preset (Fine, Shade, Fluorescent light (Daylight), Fluorescent light (Warm White). Fluorescent light (Cool White), Incandescent light), Custom), exposure compensation, bracketing, continuous shooting and high speed shooting.
Computer - Printers - Television
Cables and software are provided by Fuji to attach the Finepix S8000 to a compatible printer, television or computer.
