The distinctive red and white striped lighthouse is a true Dorset, and indeed South Coast landmark.
Standing 35 metres tall it dominates the southern tip of Portland and is visible to shipping for miles around.
It is the most recent lighthouse to be built on Portland, in 1906 and is 35 metres (115 ft) high.
