Digital Cameras Under £100

If you are looking for digital cameras under £100 you may be in for a pleasant surprise. If you choose carefully the camera you buy is likely to offer good picture quality for snapshots, ease of use and a fair range of features.

It almost goes without saying that manufacturers will have made some compromises to keep the cost of a digital camera under £100. These compromises can include smaller LCD screens, standard definition movies, slower response times, reduction in picture quality, shorter battery life and in some cases a lower build quality.

Despite this there are some very good digital cameras available for under £100 or just over that price. In my opinion this end of the market can offer some excellent value for money, especially if all you are after is a simple point and shoot camera.

Canon Powershot A480 This camera can take a decent snapshot in most situations. It is not the most beautiful camera on the market, but it does a good, solid job.

Nikon Coolpix L20 The Coolpix L20 has a number of similarities with the Canon Powershot A480. Where it is a clear winner in my eyes is when it comes to ease of use. It is difficult to some up with a simpler, more straightforward option.

Samsung ES15 Cameras do not come much cheaper than this from a known brand. I must admit I have not reviewed this camera, but if you really do have a smaller budget this camera is likely to be about the best you can get for a little over £50.

Panasonic DMC FS62 Where this camera differs from others on this list is with its small body size and shape. This is a true pocket sized camera and offers excellent value for money.

Fuji Finepix Z35 I have included the Finepix Z35 in the list as it is a fun camera. To be honest picture quality is not top drawer, but it has a different design and is available in a variety of colours. Fuji are aiming this camera at teenagers and people in their early 20s.
