Details of Fuji Finepix m603 and Where to Find the Best Prices

Digital Cameras The Fuji Finepix M603 is almost a cross between a digital camera and a camcorder with the ability to shoot movies up to 30 minutes in length. The Fuji Finepix M603 movie mode provides full TV screen sized video shot at up to 30 frames per second. The movies are recorded with sound. As you can see from its dimensions, 64.5 (W) x 93.3 (H) x 31.6mm (D) and weight 210g, it is still a small and lightweight digital camera, especially when you consider the technology packed inside. 30 second voice memos can be added to still images. Unlike many digital cameras the zoom lens and auto focus can be operational throughout the recording of the movies.

A couple of points of caution. Movie mode can be a heavy user of the battery. To help with this Fuji offer the higher capacity NP-120 battery pack. If you are planning to shot long movies you will also need a an IBM Microdrive™ or you will soon find that you have filled your memory card.

Away from its video capabilities the Fuji Finepix M603 is a 3 megapixel digital camera and will therefore produce high quality prints of up to 10x8". It comes with a 2x zoom lens. For composing and reviewing pictures the camera has a 2.5" TFT LCD monitor. That is about as large as you will find. Images are stored on a xd card or optionally on an IBM Microdrive™. A PictureCradle™ is supplied and this is used for both uploading images to your PC and recharging the battery. To get the best shots in different conditions the camera offers a wide range of sensitivities equivalent to ISO values 100, 200, 400, 800 and 1600. Note that the ISO 1600 can only be used when the camera is in 1280 x 960 mode only.

Pros
Small, lightweight and portable.
Good picture quality.
Extra large 2.5" TFT LCD monitor.
Extended movie mode with sound.
Webcam capabilities.

Cons
There are no real cons for this camera.

If you are looking for a digital camera that allows you to shoot fairly lengthy videos then the Fuji Finepix M603 is a good choice. If you would like to consider a similar camera that is a little easier on your budget then check out the Fuji Finepix F410. For a more conventional digital camera with a more "standard" movie mode then take a look at the Fuji Finepix A303.
